My Cookbook Project

2011 UPDATE

This has been such a fun project, but it's proved to be hard thing to keep updated!!  While I will continue to use my cookbooks, (and add more to my collection), I will no longer be updating this list.  I will keep this up, though, if you'd like to use it for reference!  And I'm always up for suggestions for other cookbooks that you think I need.
Make sure you are following me at

www.tasteandtellblog.com

for all of my kitchen adventures!

December 31, 2008 UPDATE

The project was a success!! I was barely able to make it through - posting my last recipe on the last day of the December, 2008. What a fun project this was! So fun, in fact, that I will continue to update it with new recipes and cookbooks. Keep coming back to cook with me - or if you have any of the same cookbooks and want to suggest a particular recipe, I'm all ears!!

For 2008, I have made myself a goal to blog about at least one recipe from each of my cookbooks. I don't have as many cookbooks as some people, but I want to try to utilize the ones that I have. Below is a list of the cookbooks I own. I will add to the list as I get new cookbooks. If I have cooked from the cookbook, the link will lead to a list with blog entries from that cookbook.

I'm excited to see if I can make it through them! (Especially since I have been addicted to buying new ones!)

A most excellent idea Deborah! I think I'd embarrass myself or I'd try this with you! Very impressive list.

You have a lot of cookbooks! I am doing something similar in an effort to use my neglected cookbooks-- each month I'm picking one of my cookbooks, and each week I'm trying to cook and blog about it at least once. It's a fun idea. I'm going to have to follow your posts to get ideas of new cookbooks I need to buy!

Great idea! I don't use my cookbooks as often as I'd like to.

Can't wait to hear more about the results.

I love how you've organized your project! I'm too embarrassed to admit to the number of cookbooks I have. Good luck!

This is a great idea! You can go online and purchase lamb and have it brought to your door step, or even better ask the store butcher to order you some, they usually will if someone goes to the trouble!

This is a great idea! If only I could cook through an ENTIRE cookbook. That is my goal after advice that was given to me but the owner of Sur la Table. She said you greatest cooking teacher is a cookbook author. Cook each recipe from the cookbook, and learn on what to improve. I have been slowly trying to do that with Donna Hay's cookbooks.

What a fun project. I think it would take me a couple years to get through all my cookbooks.

I seriously need to go through and thin out my collection a bit. I have quite a few that I have never made anything from, nor do they appeal to me much.
